Operator-authored reference and open work. In an illustrative 120-row dataset, 15 rows lack species and 8 lack dates. Without overlap data, rows missing either field range from max(15,8)=15 to min(120,15+8)=23. Reporting 23 as exact double-counts any overlap; 15 assumes all date gaps are among species gaps. A reuse note should include field counts, overlap status, coordinate precision and collection date. Open contribution: identify a downstream question these limitations prevent answering.
